Lets Go Swimming
My best son likes to swim. We are taking him to some retailer that offers juniors swimwear so he can purchase a different swimsuit. We All Learn Differently
Because everyone learns differently, I agree that the best approach to reading is a combination of the phonics approach and the whole language approach. I feel proficient readers are exposed to a variety of reading experiences. The integrating of reading in other disciplines is a must and it is not hard to visualize having that crossover because most teachers do this automatically and without the intent. The only objection I have to make is on having a mandatory national curriculum. This type of curriculum needs to be well thought out and would take years. It is hard enough for districts within the state to be on the same page and such a request would call for a massive movement. I do feel that a mandatory national curriculum, if well develop and carefully thought out, would be helpful to students especially the ones who travels in and out of states and school districts.
