Is a touch phone any good to text on?

I’m debating whether to get the LG Cookie or the LG KS360 (see links below). I prefer the Cookie but I don’t want to end up buying the wrong phone.

I mostly use my phone to text on but is a touch screen any good to text on? or does it take a little time to get use to it?

Thanks in advance

hi there,

There are two types of touch screen. And i’m certain the Cookie has a ‘resistive’ touch screen. This means that you’ll have to give a tiny bit more force that you would a ‘capacitive’ touch screen, (iphone sort of screen)
You can eventually get used to this, i got used to texting in my satio fairly quickly.

My friend has the ks360, and it’s in awful condition now, i wouldn’t recommend this phone. Touch screens are ‘scratch resistant’ whereas the ks360 is not.

I hope i helped, and guides you towards the right choice

no, they are terrible to text on. If you do a lot of texting, these phones arent for you

i used to send 50 messages a day, now i cant bothered to send two or three as my balckberry is awful. takes forever

standard keypad much better and quicker

Had the LG K900, took a while to get used to it (bit strange texting at first) but after I got the hang of it there was no problems. Bought the iPhone now and overall find it much easier texting by touch screen. Only flaw is that you need to look at the screen as you txt, whereas using a keypad I could txt with my eyes closed (or driving). Go for it!

In my opinion, hard key phones are better to text on just because you get to feel the buttons, but on the other hand with touch screen phones, once you feel the button you’ll have already punched in the letter to your phone.

I have a HTC Touch Pro 2 and use the keyboard 99.9% more than the softkeys (touchscreen)

The cookie is a nice phone

See http://tidd.ly/b37b5a29 for the best offers on it.

But if you will be doing a lot of texting and emailing, why not get the brand new blackberry curve 8520? http://tidd.ly/fc50cc54

Its not so great typing a lot on a touch-screen as it is not so accrurate and your fingers will get tired!
