At the age of 12, Julie was forced to decide between her country and her family. With the help of a Christian philanthropist, she chose to stay in the United States.

"It’s really, really hard to leave your family," she told CNN by phone.

A study issued Tuesday provides one of the most comprehensive looks at "citizen children" like Julie who are caught in the cross hairs of the nation’s illegal immigration battle.

Nearly 4 million children who have at least one parent who entered the U.S. illegally were born in the United States and are U.S. citizens as a result, according to the study conducted by the Pew Hispanic Center.

That’s about three quarters of the estimated 5.5 million children of illegal immigrants inside the United States, according to the study. About 1.8 million children of undocumented immigrants live in poverty, the study found.

"Among children whose parents are unauthorized immigrants, one in three is poor. The [poverty] rate of children of unauthorized immigrants is similar whether the children are unauthorized immigrants or U.S. born," the study says.

Roughly 12 million illegal immigrants are in the United States — about 4 percent of the nation’s population. The study found that the majority of illegal immigrants, about 7 million, come from Mexico.

Shuya Ohno with the Washington-based advocacy organization National Immigration Forum said the study underscores how the nation’s immigration situation is "not so simple."

"This really highlights the fact that so many undocumented families are of mixed status — that there is a U.S. citizen in the direct family," he said.

Undocumented immigrants make up more than 5 percent of the U.S. work force, according to the study, based on March 2008 figures from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The children of illegal immigrants make up an even greater share of students in America’s primary and secondary schools, with nearly 7 percent enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. That figure has jumped, from 5.4 percent in 2003.

In states near Mexico’s border — Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada and Texas — about 10 percent of the student population are the children of illegal immigrants.

The study also found that these children are more likely to live in a two-parent home, compared with the rest of the nation.

"The vast majority of all children with at least one unauthorized immigrant parent live in two-parent families (80 percent)," the study says. "This is similar to the share of children of other immigrants who do so (84 percent) and higher than the share of children with U.S.-born parents (71 percent)."

The study comes as the Obama administration considers comprehensive immigration reform.

Obama has supported a combination of enforcing laws and opening up the system. He wants to see a pass for citizenship that would mean having an illegal immigrant pay a fine, learn English and then get in line for citizenship. Critics refer to that "path to citizenship" as amnesty.

In the case of Julie Quiroz, she was born in Washington state, lived there her entire life and went to school there. But her mother, Ana Reyes, entered the United States illegally before Quiroz was born and U.S. immigration officials deported her in 2007.

Two of her brothers were also deported. Her 7-year-old sister, who is a U.S. citizen, is living in Mexico with her mother.

"She is getting no education or very little — and pretty much has lost all of her English language skills for being out of the country now for almost two years. It’s just awful," said Joe Kennard, the philanthropist who came to Julie’s aid.

Kennard formed a group called Organization to Help Citizen Children, which works with churches along the U.S.-Mexico border to provide support for children whose mother or father is deported to Mexico. Julie has been living with his family over the last year in Texas.

He has urged Obama to issue an executive order to stay the deportation of any undocumented parent of a citizen child to prevent the separation of families. "It’s the only humane thing to do," he said.

NOKIA 5300 questions please help. picture inside!!! come look. best most informative answer gets 10 points!!!!

does the NOKIA 5300 come with a USB cable so i can put music on it from my computer, if not then where can i get a USB cable for that phone to my computer?? or do i need to purchase a micro sd card and put music on it?? if so then how and when i purchase the sd card will it come with the thing where i can connect it to my computer and put songs on it??

Weird abilities. Need to Know What they are?

Hi I have a strange question with something that has been happening to me for a while now.

It started last year a few weeks after my birthday. I am now 26 I am currently overseas working. This may sound crazy but I can see through people. It doesn’t always happen at will. It started with me playing a guessing game with friends with ‘what colour’ they were thinking. The strange thing is when normally we try to figure something out we think and depend on alot of facts and we sit there thinking away. But the strange thing about this is that when i was asked to guess the colour there was this sudden flash of light in my mind and it seemed like my eyes looked up towards the center of my forehead and I saw a colour. I guessed the colour right and they tried again and again with me. I freaked out because I kept guessing from colours to numbers to letters of the alphabet right. I even tried with places and I have been atleast 80 percent right.

The weird thing is that I don’t think or analyse anything, I just see the image or colour in my head and it’s usually the first visualization I get and it travels very quick it’s like I am catching the other person’s thought more than reading it. Also if I do force myself to do it or if I am in the dumps emotionally or if I haven’t eaten or slept well it gets worse or doesn’t work at all. Like just blank. like shutters over my forehead.

The 2nd strange thing, when i touch someone usually with my left hand, like hold their hand or hug or get just close enough to them I have a sense of ‘knowing’ what their health status is or how they are feeling, who they hold deeply in their heart and their intentions.
The thing is I don’t try to ‘figure’ them out, I don’t try to ‘invade’ them, it just comes to me. I had a friend who was panicking about whether they have a particular ‘disease’ because the information they got was leading them to conclude that it was. I held their hand for a moment to comfort them and in a weird way I just ‘knew’ my friend wasn’t sick. Though I could feel the emotions they were going through at the time. A few weeks later, my friend went to get their medical results back and told me that I was right and perhaps still intrigued by how I knew. I said I just ‘knew’.

3rd strange ability. This one is still a problem at hand and it seems to be growing each day. It’s a problem because all of this is purely unintended. I get static shocked each time I touch metal even at night. I touch people or if I touch metal I static shock myself and the other person at the same time and believe me it’s strong. The last time I remember having a huge static shock was with my dad a few years back. I was handing him the garage keys and before my hand touched his there was this bright flash of bluish electric current going across atleast 1 inch long and both of us felt like we’ve been hit by a slamming door. I couldn’t forget it. It was horrible. I have trouble getting in my car or working where I have to constantly touch metallic objects. There was a stage where I had to wear gloves while I was working and whenever I had to stop by the gas station people would look at me like I’m nuts because I used to touch my car and the handles and everything really quickly. The gloves only worked 30 percent of the time. I have seen doctors, they tell me I don’t drink enough water or that my hands are too dry. I do drink alot of water and even my feet or legs or hips get electricuted! It’s a nightmare.
Besides the static shock, I make computers go funny, usually it will get frozen or have errors or totally shut down. When that happens I’m usually angry, frustrated or over excited. I can move the cursor on the screen without even touching the mouse and turn or close a web page before I even get to doing it. Though these could be just random computer things.

4th thing is, this is very recent. out of day dreaming I would get images of things that happen in the future. For example I would be day dreaming about being on a beach or the house of dreams or even thinking about what I am going to do today and all of a sudden I end up day dreaming about walking and my phone rings and a particular friend has called me. Then in reality I wanna go out to eat or something I get up from my couch, walk downstairs, I’m walking and what do you know my phone rings and it’s my friend.

I have tried over and over again, it’s pretty hard to think that this is just my imagination going over board. Yet it feels the same as imagining something or day dreaming. I mean sure this could be coincidence and nothing more.

So can anyone give me a scientific or logical explanation for these weird abilities. Please need some insight on this. I would appreciate any input, like whether you think I am a nutcase or whatever.
About my sign, I was born on 12th December 1982 at 11:55pm.
Also had a dream the other day there was water on the ground, there was a metallic huge object cylinder looking it was rotating then i hit a car or truck and there was an explosion, i think there was a plane or a flying vehicle too.

Psychic, Nut case or over active mind? need to know what they are?

In addition to the ‘knowing’ bit. I knew alot of things current and future.
1. I was in a perfectly good job and everyone including the boss was so nice to me, yet each time i was in the room i could feel i was gonna get fired, 3 months later I did.
2. My ex boyfriend looked at me in the eyes and said he wasn’t cheating on me I believed him but somewhere a part of me couldn’t. Couldn’t sleep next day I caught him cheating.
3. The other night I started to feel so cold like it was -10 degrees in my room yet the heater was on full blast. I went out while it was still sunny next thing you know I was freezing to death on my way home.
4. I know 70 percent of the time who is calling or who has sent me an sms.
5. My parents are in another country yet my father knows what I’m up to and (mundane things like sleeping late).
6. Unfortunately the more I affirm of having these abilities and such and force myself to perform them, it just doesn’t happen. I have been blank lately.

Youtube "source" code. Any nerds see anything here to explain the problems there? Can’t fit the whole code

First of all, what the #$@$^ are you wanting to know. I looked at the "source" code and all you’ve down is click on the view menu in the toolbar and selected "source" and then copied and pasted it here, So what’s the problem?

If the problem is that the youtube website is not loading properly, it’s not due to a source code, but something that’s going on at youtube, and that means there is nothing you can do about it but try to access the page later.

What’s a good store to find a gift box like this? (Urgent)?

I need a gift box like the one on the very top. There is a Wal-Mart super-center nearby! I called them but the stationary section isn’t picking up the phone, and before I get a ride there, I need to know if they’ll carry something like it. Are these kind of boxes pretty easy to find in supermarkets?! Urgent help needed, thanks a lot!

Try Target or even Walgreens in the gift section. Hallmark should definitely have it.

MacBook Second Display Issues.?

I have a 1080p HD television that I use as a display for my MacBook 2,1. I have always been able to use the full 1600×1200 through Mini DVI to VGA connectors. However, today, for the first time, when I put the display in 1600×1200, it creates a very small picture in the center of my TV screen. It seems as though the computer is thinking that the TV and the LCD on my Laptop are the same display, and won’t let the resolution displayed on the TV be more than the native 1280×800 on my Laptop’s LCD.

I believe what is happening is that, the MacBook is sending out a 1600×1200 pixel image, but the actual screen is being displayed on 1280×800 pixels in the middle of the 1600×1200 screen. This is because my TV says it’s recieving a 1600×1200 signal, but is only displaying a small image of resolution 1280×800 surrounded by black pixels filling out the rest of the 1600×1200 image.

The reason I think that the MacBook is treating the TV as the same display as my laptop LCD is because when I set the image to 1280×768, it completely fills the TV screen, because that resolution would also fit on my 1280×800 display.

Usually, when I hook up my Mini DVI to VGA connector from the MacBook to my TV, the screen on the laptop turns off, but for some reason, the screen remained on this time, which leads me to believe that the laptop thinks the two displays are the same.

I contacted Apple Phone Support, but all they could tell me is that my phone service had expired after owning the Laptop for two years. So I had to come to good ol’ Yahoo Answers

FYI, your 1080p HDTV’s resolution is 1920×1080. That’s what you should be running at.

Also, analog VGA is not the best way to connect your Macbook to the HDTV.

You should buy the miniDVI-to-DVI adapter and a DVI-to-HDMI cable. This is a digital connection and will allow your Macbook to better detect what display modes the HDTV will support.
