Placental Abruption Cases

Lawyers who handle birth injury cases see many different types of injuries to infants that can result in a case against the responsible doctors, nurses, or other health care providers. One type of case arises from a pregnancy complication called a placental abruption. A placental abruption can cause the unborn baby’s oxygen supply to be restricted or even cut off. This can lead to hypoxia which can result in brain damage or even in the death of the baby. If a doctor or nurse fails to recognize that there is a placental abruption and that it requires urgent action in order to protect the baby’s health they may be liable for medical malpractice or even the wrongful death of the baby.
