What Are Common Infections in Diabetics?

Most women wonder how and why diabetes causes yeast infection.
Diabetics can have a lowered immunity system due to factors of diabetes. This lower immune system contributes to slower recovery from yeast infections or higher susceptibility to them.

To cure a yeast infection, there are certain aspects diabetics need to be aware of.

This is because normally, yeast can’t thrive in the vagina because of its high acidity.

If a woman has diabetes, her vagina will secrete fluids that contain more glucose/sugar and this will result into the yeast cells thriving because of the presence of nutrients that are vital for them.

Furthermore, diabetics tend to have lower immune systems because of its alteration of the functions of certain important organs in the body (like the pancreas).
