How should I resize this image to put on my cell phone?
I have a Motorola Krzr K1m cell phone, it has a display resolution of 176 x 220 pixels.
I want to resize the image found here: http://www.drumcafecalifornia.com/images/DrumMagazineLogo.gif
to fit as my wallpaper on my cell phone.
I have Photoshop but how do I resize it to make it fit perfectly?
I know how to send it to my phone already. thanks.
You won’t be able to properly resize the image unless you want to expand it by adding more background to it. The reason is you will end up changing the aspect ratio (width x height). The logo is very rectangular, it is much wider than it is high, and your phone’s aspect ration is only slightly rectangular by comparison, and appears to be higher than it is wide.
So I would first take the logo and put in onto a document maybe with a black background that was similar to the aspect ratio of the phone display.
Then I would use Image>size to change the size to match the phone display, and then from there, do a File>Save for Web and Devices which will let you choose the image type and the display quality.
Hope that helps.
