The San Francisco port of departure is a well known and remarkable place. If scheduling an Alaskan cruise that leaves from San Francisco, seems like it might be an incredible feat, think again. The choice between various ports are offered by many of the leading cruise lines heading towards Alaska. If you find that perhaps traveling to Vancouver or even Seattle is too far for you to go, than you it is usually simple to find a cruise line which departs out of San Francisco as most of them do.

In the peak season of April to September, Princess Cruise Lines has lots of cruises to choose from. Fares from San Francisco will cost a bit more because the cruise ship has to go farther north until it reaches Alaska. Because departing from Vancouver requires less time at sea and provides more time to explore the pleasures of Alaska, some people find it preferable.

One of the wonderful cruise companies that has ships leaving from San Francisco is Royal Caribbean; and cruises can be booked during the nicest times of the year, as was previously stated. Each of these cruise lines offer discounted fares for last minute travel or average accommodations within the ship itself.
